The Discord Bot Popularity Curve
TL;DR: bots.topstats.gg tracks 50,475 Discord bots listed on top.gg. In the current month, one single bot - Mudae - collected 30.0% of every vote cast for the top 1,000 bots. The top 10 collected 63.8%. The top 100 collected 92.9%. Discord bot popularity is not a curve so much as a cliff.
Vote share of the top 1,000, by tier
The top 1,000 bots collected 10,754,120 monthly votes between them at the time of the snapshot. Their lifetime total stands at 1,146,352,845 votes - 1.15 billion.
How fast the curve falls
| Rank by monthly votes | Monthly votes |
|---|---|
| #1 | 3,224,231 |
| #10 | 181,226 |
| #100 | 7,069 |
| #500 | 313 |
| #1,000 | 68 |
- The #1 bot out-votes the #10 bot 17.8 to 1, the #100 bot 456 to 1, and the #1,000 bot 47,415 to 1.
- The median bot inside the top 1,000 received 311 votes in the month. Below rank 807, monthly votes drop under 100.
- Every one of the top 1,000 received at least one vote - but 49,475 tracked bots sit below even that line.
Votes and installs are different games
Only 31 of the top 100 bots by monthly votes are also top 100 by server count. The starkest example in the snapshot: Rythm sits in 19,700,000 servers - the largest install base anywhere in the top 1,000 by votes - yet ranks #564 by monthly votes. Vote leaderboards measure active enthusiasm; server counts measure accumulated distribution. A bot can dominate one and barely register on the other.
Methodology
Snapshot taken August 26, 2026 from the public bots.topstats.gg monthly-vote leaderboard, covering the top 1,000 of 50,475 tracked bots listed on top.gg. Vote counts are the current calendar month at snapshot time. Percentages are shares of the top-1,000 total (votes cast for bots outside the top 1,000 are a negligible remainder of the distribution). bots.topstats.gg has tracked top.gg listings hourly since 2019 and is not affiliated with top.gg.
